I am building a site with two languages, however, each time I export/import the multilingual vocabulary, the multilingual settings for this vocabulary get lost.

Any ideas how to solve this?

I don't know how multilingual vocabs are handled. (and have not tried them)
Can you supply a sample file?

Note that this is not (and probably cannot be) supported in the legacy Drupal-only XML format. If this is to happen, only RDF format (which will be able to) can handle languages.
Right now it does NOT - or at least that hasn't been tested for, but the potential is there within RDF format.

I don't have a task that will be requiring this feature, so I don't know who will have time to look at adding it ... I'd encourage it, but don't have the inclination to do it myself at the moment.
