Sister issue to #1047802: Create a centralized e-mail subscription/unsubscription mechanism.
Clients almost always want to customize the wording of e-mail templates, and right now that's insanely hard for them to do because the settings are scattered all over the place (admin/config/people, admin/config/privatemsg, admin/store/thing/stuff/what/oof/mails), if the module even provides an interface for this at all.
hook_mail() knows about all the mails that are registered with the system, at least in theory. So it seems like it would be possible to create a single interface that let people edit title/body of all system mails.
For this interface to not be ungodly awful (14,000 textfield/textarea combos) we probably need some mechanism to group mail keys together under a single fieldset, sub-page, etc.

We are working to decide if this proposal meets the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or there is no community support. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.
Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
Thanks!
