Hello all,

This is short post to remind everyone that you can provide a community of consultants on IRC at #drupal-consultants on FreeNode, as well as to provide a little, hopefully useful guidance.

First, we are trying to build a more effective community as well as a more effective process, for matching clients/jobs to available consultants in the channel. For those of you who are consultants, please feel to head over and say hello.

Next, for those of you who are clients or intermediaries with jobs, #drupal-consultants has quite a few consultants who have been active in the community long-term. Many of these people are glad to help you as you can, but they are usually booked up with projects and currently working on projects.

Because of this, it may take a while for people to reply. Generally, it helps if you stick around the channel for hours or a day or so, so the consultants in-channel have a chance to read their logs, and find you to reply.

You can also find some short, we hope useful factoids by typing "c-intro?" when in channel.

Finally, we are at the very beginning of implementing changes in the IRC channel, and we hope, later in this forum and elsewhere. We're not "stuck on" any particular set of changes, but wish to build a better community for clients, consultants and others. Your input and feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken Thomas
