I'm running a new install of 4.7 and am testing things out. The blog module automatically uses the current date and time for the post's settings; how can I manually set the date of a blog post? I want to be able to back-date a post.

TIA.

Hey Arthaey

When you post a blog posting, just below the main text field you will find a list of additional optional settings. One of them is called Authoring information. Click on it, and you will find, that the second input field allows you to set the publishing date.

Good Luck and Bright Holiday Greetings

Hi Jason,

I was reading drupal documentation and the ways to extend it, been reading a lot on hooks and stuff... After I read Arthaey's post I was going to suggest him to look at the blog.module and change couple of lines there... But your answer ... :)

I should spend some time playing with drupal "build-in" modules first...

Can I know, how can I maintain the post date as its when updating the blog is done. Now it changes to the updated date

JasonMR: Thank you for you quick reply! Because all the additional settings default to being collapsed, rather than expanded, I didn't think to open "Authoring information" to modify the date posted. Thanks for pointing it out!

I've renamed the section to "Author and date information" so I won't misplace it again. :)
