Hey Dan, I'm having trouble while trying to place the language switcher inline somewhere on top of the page.
First, let me clear two things:
1. I am looking for a way to do this without having to re-edit code each time there is a new version of this theme. So, I don't want to add code to the page.tpl.php. I want the block placed in a region someplace on the top instead.
2. I have already coded the flags inline + no bullets css hack, so I am not looking for tips on how to do that either.
Now that we got things cleared up and you understand that I am not looking for any php/css hack or snippet, let me tell you what I've tried already and what issues I came across...
- I initially tried placing the block (via the block edit page: /admin/structure/block) in the Search region. The block does show up and I am able to do what I want. But the search block is available only to authenticated users and is hidden when one visits the site anonymously. This breaks positioning, so the search region is ruled out.
- I then tried placing it in the Superfish menu region. The block does not show up at all there. I guess his might be intentional or that it has to do with the script messing up any other non-menu blocks placed there. That rules this region out too.
- I then tried placing the language block in the Preface top region. This is reserved for the slideshow in the front page though and the language block is only shown in the site's first page. Once again, this is no good because I need the block to show in every page of the site.
- I then tried the Highlighted region. Again the language block is show only in the front page. No good
Any other region is way down and I need the language block to be someplace up. The ideal would be to be placed at the far right of the Superfish menu. So I believe that there should be another region available at the top. This new region should be visible in all pages. If that can be done, then I believe I can achieve what I am after through css magic. Will you please consider this since you mentioned here that you are thinking of adding extra regions anyways? At least keep it in mind while working on that. Thanx in advance.
