Create a link to the settings page for the module so that admins can
1) ftp up a module
2) refresh modules page
4) check and submit a module
5) upon refresh, scroll back to module listing and set settings (*on the modules page*)

for the main settings for a module (most have only one new menu item) *use the title of module*, for sub settings page (or modules with more than one new menu item added or those that add new content types, etc), make a list of settings or new features in the description and make them hotlinks (it would look like the dependencies in 5.0). the existing menu structure can remain and wont be in conflict with this alternate system.

ie dont just tell me what I can do with the module, link to where it can be done!

ex:
"Front Page Allows site admins setup custom front pages for the site."

make the words "Front Page" and/or "setup custom front pages" go to the page to do just that! (admin/settings/front)

i dont find myself using the "task" listing nearly as much as I do the "by module" tab (which i'd like to have the option to make default). this new feature would make the modules listing the central resource for installing and configuring settings.

seems like the core module code could grab a hook on activation to do this for the title (Front Page in above example) while the descriptor might be a module authors responsibility. mabe the info file format is updated to include "primary settings link"
