Hello,
I have almost finished the translation of Drupal to Vietnamese and I wish to contribute parts of my work to the community. I've tried to create a new project but there is an existing project named Vietnamese translation and I don't know how to submit my .po files (could not find the vi folder under contributions/translation). The project maintainer of this project seems to be inactive and I could not find any translation information from the project page. For better contribution, I need you transfer the maintainer role of this orphaned project to me. My CVS account is thanhhai.
Thank you for you time.
Best regards,
Thanh Hai, Ha.

dwwthere seems to be confusion here...
http://drupal.org/project/vietnamese exists (http://drupal.org/node/103917)
it was just created a few weeks ago, so i find it hard to believe it's already abandoned/orphaned.
however, it's got the wrong shortname and is pointing to the wrong directory in CVS. instead of "vietnamese", it should just be "vt" (assuming that's the right country code).
seems like you and thehong need to talk and figure out what's going on. either one of you could own the project node, the other could be granted CVS access, and then both of you would be able to update the project node, make changes, etc. since it's a translation, anyone with a CVS account can already commit to the (still non-existant) contributions/translations/vt directory...
anyway, the two of you should sort it out. once you have a plan, just follow-up here and i'd be happy to help with whatever node ownership transfer (if any) needs to happen.
cheers,
-derek

thanhhai commentedI mentioned the project named Vietnamese translation listed here http://drupal.org/project/vi This project was created a month ago without any release. The correct locale code for Vietnamese is vi so I assumed the project named Vietnamese is not about Vietnamse translation and I did not take a look at it. Because of project duplication, would you please merge 2 projects into one and create valid vi directory in CVS? Thanks.
Kind regards,
Thanh Hai, Ha.

dwwok, here's what i did:
1) i unpublished http://drupal.org/project/vietnamese (http://drupal.org/node/103917)
2) i gave you access to http://drupal.org/project/vi (http://drupal.org/node/99512)
3) i created a directory in repository: /contributions/translations/vi (you should have had access to do this yourself, but it was easy so i just did it anyway)
so...
a) feel free to commit your translation to CVS
b) you should be able to create releases for it via the project node
c) if you need to make any changes to the settings of the project node itself, you should have access to the edit tab now
d) please contact http://drupal.org/user/40347 and http://drupal.org/user/84886 to let them know what's going on so there's no more duplication of effort
thanks and good luck,
-derek

thanhhai commentedThanks for the fix. I've informed thehong about the merged project and asked him to join the translation team. antonium is not reachable via contact form.

vph commentedHello,
It is great that someone stepped up to take care of the translation. Please add me to the translation team. I created the Vietnamese Typing module.

thanhhai commentedHello vph,
Please contact dww for cvs access to the project folder. I have just published the first release of the translation (awaiting the packaging scripts run). Please check it out.

dwwa) you don't (yet) need any special CVS access to commit changes to translations, only an approved CVS account in the contributions repository. you only need project-specific CVS access to add CVS tags and branches (e.g. to manage releases).
b) i made thanhhai the owner of /project/vi so that he can now use the "CVS access" tab on the project node to give access to anyone he wants.
c) i gave the old owner (antonium) full CVS access.
d) i added vph, too (though again, not needed unless you're tagging an official release).
i hope we can leave this issued fixed/resolved. ;)
thanks,
-derek
