Under /?q=admin, under Menus, the description reads "Control your site's navigation menu, create menu blocks, as well as rename and reorganize menu items." While "as well as" could be technically correct under a strict reading of commonly-accepted grammar rules, it does not fit well in this sentence and probably should be replaced with "or".
The description under Date and Time reads, "Settings for how Drupal displays date and time, as well as the system's default timezone." Not only does "as well as" gum up the phrasing, the comma is improper. A better phrasing may be, "Settings for how Drupal displays date and time and the system's default timezone." I may not have interpreted the original intent, so another phrasing could be "Settings for how Drupal displays date and time, including the system's default timezone."
The description under Error reporting reads, "Control how Drupal deals with errors including 403/404 errors as well as PHP error reporting." Simpler phrasing could be, "Control how Drupal deals with errors, including 403/404 errors and PHP error reporting." The comma and replacing "as well as" with "and" make the sentence more clear.
The big summary is to get away from "as well as." Its use on this page does not imply grammatical sophistication.

keith.smith commentedAttached patch tweaks the menu descriptions more or less as noted in the issue, as well as a few additional ones that were nearby for good measure. :)
Moving to 5.x-dev as a start.
