Hi,

I was wondering if there's a module / feature avail in CCK or else to allow the user to perform field-wise batch-edits/updates on nodes/CCK nodes

i.e. update field X in all selected/all records to Y

Hi,
It's not quite what you are talking about, but Edit View (http://drupal.org/project/editview) may be a step in the right direction. Sounds like it would be cool to extend it to have functionality you mention.
