AKISMET module should create statistics on IPs of spam senders...

that could easily be used to generate a copy/paste block that an Admin could use
to blacklist those IPs on the firewall (or other tools)

This isn't something I'd be likely to tackle; at present it's a tool for blocking spam at the content level rather than a statistics gathering tool. If someone were to put a patch together, it might be worth a look, but something like the badbehavior module, or a more general purpose tool, would probably be better.

it's by no means about statistics...

you have to get rid of hardcore spam bots at lowest possible level - the network IF
and I constantly block those that send 1000+ trackbacks per day to my servers...
if you got such a high-volume spam attack it even kills your dual-dualcore-servers and slows Drupal tremendously
