bot_module: http://drupal.org/node/105521 => rip out bizzare "default version" behavior => Project issue tracking, Issues, normal, patch (code needs review), 1 IRC mention
it'd be nice if that said "bug" or "task" or "feature request", etc, as appropriate...
thanks,

morbus iffActually, category was in the first draft, but ChrisKennedy and I decided it wasn't "important" enough. You think it is?
ChrisKennedy commentedHere my ideal logic for this feature, which would theoretically keep the metadata string concise:
1. Display the project.
2. If the project is drupal, display the component. Maybe add "project" too, since its components are important. However, for most other contribs displaying the component doesn't seem necessary.
3. If the priority is critical, display that (or indicate it somehow).
4. Display the status.
5. Display the version if it's different from a set of defaults (default would include 5.x, 5.0-beta1, 5.0-beta2, 5.0-rc1 - although ideally this would be based a "core compatibility" attribute for each version id, so that all 5.x versions were automatically included). Maybe only display this for drupal and not contribs.
6. Display the IRC mentions (and remove "IRC" from the string).
As I said in IRC, imo the difference between bug, feature, and task is minor and varies by individual, so I personally don't find the category useful. For me, the important difference is only in how project_issues and the contributors block display them. For example "pending bugs" doesn't display tasks or features, critical issues excludes features, and "patches to review" only includes bugs. Other than that bug, feature, task classification is often a personal preference.
Of course I'm only one #drupal resident out of many so I don't need to be specifically catered to.

ChrisKennedy commentedOh and I guess I forgot about "support" - that's a category that would be useful to display, because it is significantly different from bug/feature/task.

dwwthat all sounds good. i'm happy with chris's more thought-out proposal. ;)

morbus iffClosing. It was never brought up again.
