Although listed on the 5.0 modules page, the tar file is from version *4.7*, and the module does not appear under /admin/build/modules in 5.0 beta1.

This module hasn't been tagged or branched for 5.0 and the cvs versions were not ready when beta1 came out. Moreover, this is a contrib module and there should be no expectation of it being packaged with the regular distribution of Drupal core. With that clarified, I don't plan on branching or tagging for 5.0 until core is final and final testing of the most recent (November 27) cvs patch for 5.0 can be tested on core. Until then, please feel free to test the CVS version on 5.0 and submit related bugs/patches.

Could you at least make a DRUPAL-5 tag (that will be marked as -dev), so that we can test it without having to check out the HEAD branch individually?

I mostly agree with Hickory (though I think a branch would be the best and then the release system repackages the latest updates on that Dev branch). I tested this out on a 5.x site and found no problems.

The README.txt could be improved to point to admin/build/block/configure/similar/0 and also say "administer > Site building > Blocks" but otherwise it looks fine.
