attached is a patch that just cleans up some formatting and standards errors that were found via the coder module. The patch affects a series of core modules, but doesn't change any logic.

I think that you'll likely want to split up that patch into multiple smaller patches and then file separate issues which are tagged with their associated component.
Also, the testbot couldn't apply the original patch and patches must now be made against Drupal 8 and back-ported.
