drupal.org: personal local bookmarks?

xjm - December 30, 2006 - 10:08

You know what would be great on drupal.org? One-click personal bookmarking for nodes. Scenario: it's 4:00a and you're browsing the Handbooks or the Forums, and you see a topic that merits looking into. You think, hey I should check that out tomorrow when I'm at the office... and promptly forget all about it because it's 4:00a.

A slightly less lazy person would take down the URL or make a browser bookmark, but that's, you know, not as easy. With a little "bookmark this node" link, the node id could be added to a user's private reference list, and the user could view a list of those nodes in his/her profile or in an optional block. (I think there are contributed modules that do something along these lines, but not in use on drupal.org).

Anyone else ever wanted this feature?

Very handy. I've got so many bookmarks that although they're well-organized when I bookmark anything now it means I am putting a page away in a neat folder that I'll never visit. I use my Personal bar for links to visit again "soon" but it gets crowded and is a real annoyance. And... why am I talking about my personal life?

Local Site Bookmarks

What a great idea. Bookmarks local to the website being visited (re: logged in, of course). I wonder if there is anything available.

It isn't finished yet, but with a little encouragement, let's see what stage it is at.

Would be a great feature if this were to be implemented. A lot of other sites have this, and it is something i've found useful. No worrying about broken bookmarks, as the system would know already about changes.
