Hello all,
The aim of the website is to be a simple one explaining what the company does. But a login system is required for clients who wish to obtain particular information from us. So for example, the client might log in, click a request information button, fill in some text fields and tick a selection of check boxes that are relevant. This then needs to be saved in a database and email our company a copy of it.
We need a login system for ourselves to obtain this information via the website, and respond to it by attaching a PDF document or something similar.
I've used Drupal a few times now and would say I'm quite familiar with it but do you think it is too rich a CMS for such a project? To me drupal is more of a community CMS and may not be suited to a back-end sort of operation. It needs to look simple and jargon-free for both our clients and employees. I really like Drupal and how it works, but I don't want all the blogging and forums (unless these can be modified to what I need, and disguise them )etc, and without the menu system too. Just a simple solution to what I require. I'm thinking I could use flexinode for the specific information that clients want to send to us.
Do you think Drupal will do it, or could any body recommend another CMS that is more suited?
I'd really appreciate some feedback, thanks very much in advance, happy new year!

Just turn off what you don't need
Using Drupal would provide the benefit of having options available in the future as the business grows, just turn off what you don't need.
I put a site together for a client (http://www.baggetta.com.au) with similar needs to yours. Check out the 'Special Offers' page this was achieved with the webform module.

Hi, I like the site you mentioned above. I'm just looking at whether drupal is suitable for a site I am doing (havent used it before). I've a quick question. On the site above the frontpage has a 'recent articles' section, showing the newest content from a category called 'Articles'. Is it possible to have that 'recent articles' section pull a mix of new content from different categories and put into the same list?
Cheers
