Disabling (some) publishing options

Xano - December 30, 2006 - 23:22

For some content types I'd like to disable (some) publishing options. Blog posts and news need to be published an promoted to frontpage at all times (the other options aren't being used), so I would like the publishing options tab to be removed and the two settings being set as default. Articles on the other hand need not to be published immediately (moderator has to check them first) and not to be promoted to FP.

Basically I want the default options set per content type and the publising options tab being disabled, so people can't choose their own options. Can this be done?

Sure.

Sure.
- From /admin/content/types you can set the defaults for each content type.
- All publishing options are disabled for the users and they can't change the default settings, except if you have given them "administer nodes" permission from /admin/user/access (in which case they can do *anything* with *any* nodes).

Ah. I've been testing

Ah. I've been testing everything with an admin account, so that's why I see those options every time.

Thanks!

Content Defaults

I have the opposite problem.

I have just upgrade to V5.1 from V4.7 and now even as adminstrator I cannot overide the default setting for comments etc when adding new content.

I tried adding a new user role of administrator able to do everything and altered my own profile to that but no change.

I am the only user on the site.

You may find the Input Format Permissions module helpful for this also..
