I installed the republish module and enabled the vocabulary for forums but when I post a forum topic, I don't see a link to republish this node. Perhaps I'm unclear about this but I thought it would allow a node to be duplicated with a new author? Anybody using this module successfully?

You must enable the
You must enable the republish feature for the specific content type. In your case you can open Administer -> Settings -> Content types, click "Configure" next the "forum topic" type, and enable the republish option.
