When I use Addresses within a CCK Node, the list of Provinces (and I presume Countries too) always starts from the first value in the array. i.e. The default province in the United Kingdom is set to "Guernsey" (which is not even in the UK! See #1064834: United Kingdom Province List is not user friendly and contains non-UK Provinces )

I would like the option to configure a county on the list to be the default selection when creating Address Field content.

E.g. The website I am working on deals mainly with customers in the same province as the business, therefore it seems sensible to make that province the default selection.

The provinces list could also be weighted so that a user can choose their neighbouring provinces to appear at the top of the drop-down list.

Actually the list of provinces is supposed to be in the right order in the province file.

For the countries, it is already possible to setup some countries to appear at the top. That list is forced to alphabetical order though. Another little problem in this module... 8-)
