+1 for adding a views user handler for 'Link to profile on master site'. Also would be nice if we could override the existing 'Link this field to its user' behavior, although if we solve the first part exposing the link to the master profile page, then we can simply use the 'Output this field as a link' behavior.

This came up on http://association.drupal.org too. For the elections, we want to display a block with the Drupal.org username and link to their d.o profile. The username is fine, but the link takes them to basically a blank profile with no information. :\ It'd be wonderful to be able to pull in at least the parent site user ID that could be used to hand-craft a link.

This could also be solved by #895156: Provide feature for linking usernames to master profile though it would do so across the entire theme.
