Primary Links Covered by Admin Menu

Hello,

I have installed the Administration Menu module on a website using this theme. We're also using the standard Aboutpeople primary links setup, which is at the top of the website (see 1st screenshot).

The problem is that when you're logged in, the Admin Menu is covering up the primary links (see 2nd screenshot). I've switched to a different Administration Theme, which solves the problem for admin pages. But when looking at content pages (or taxonomies), the primary links are invisible.

So, I'm wondering if there's some way for the top of the theme to begin at the bottom of the Admin Menu? It seems like many themes work this way in conjunction w/ the Admin Menu. So that would be the best option, I'd think. But at this point, any solution would be welcomed...
