I just installed Addthis 4 on our Drupal site, and found it odd that there is an option on every node for what type of Addthis button is displayed. I love the idea of Addthis as a field which can be added to comments, users, etc. But, I would assume someone wants the same type of share button across their entire site, or at least across all entities of a specific type, for consistency in user experience.
Could you remove the drop down option on the node form? Or add an option for it to be hidden?

m.e. commentedHas this been done for the beta version of this release? I am not seeing it on my node add or edit form. (Which is unfortunate, because on my site I'd like the option of a different style.)

rickvug commentedI agree that this is an issue. An option would be to provide an additional Add This field widget that does not allow for any per entity configuration and as such always assumes the default settings. As a work around you could always try to accomplish the same thing now view field permissions.

zfactor commentedThat requires that you install another module though that you don't really need.

matglas86 commented@zfactor: Can you explain how to recreate this. I even looked at the master but I can't recreate this.
