Hi. Does anyone know whether the OSM Player v. 6.x-1.x-dev supports MP3 sample rates above 44.1kHz (specifically 48kHz)? I can't seem to find this sort of info anywhere.

Lack of this capability is a ridiculous thing about Flash/Flash MP3 players (I mean, apparently film/video editors are dropping 48kHz MP3 files right into their editing sessions these days - the fact one can't play them back on web sites seems crazy).

I am really hoping the OSM Player may bridge this gap - anybody?

Do you have a sample audio file that you are having problems with that I can download and do some testing. I have personally not had any issues with mp3 sample rates, but have not tested different rates other than what I have in my mp3 collection. If you have a specific file that you are having issues with, then that would help me debug.

Thanks,

Travis.

Thanks very much for the reply Travis, for this great module, and for all your other support replies in the last 16 hrs or so (I am subscribed and noticed a flurry of them - fantastic to see this level of support).

I was not actually having trouble with sample rate, but rather was (and still am but will post separately) having trouble understanding how to use the module and was trying to find out whether it would support 48kHz files before spending more time trying to figure out how to use it.

Basically my test Mediafront View, which currently just attempts to load all nodes of type audio, shows a player and 3 spinning progress wheels but no visual indication a file is loaded. I discovered however that all audio nodes were loaded when I pressed play just to see what would happen and a track began to play back. I confirmed it was playing back at the correct sample rate so that's great news for my project!

Thanks so much again, will post separately to try to figure out what I am doing wrong, or if there is some other issue.

butler,

Is this currently on a live server that I can take a look at? If not, then you might try to edit your preset and then change the Communication Protocol ( in Other Settings ), to JSON only and see if that gets rid of this issue. Also, what browser are you testing this in?

Thanks,

Travis.

Travis, thanks again for the reply - I will start a separate issue as this amounts to off topic for this one... but just quickly I am testing so far in Firefox.

Thanks mucho, please look out for another post in a bit (actually want to mess around a little more to make sure I am being as independent as possible/not squandering your support time)...

Just an update - the awesome OSM player does indeed play 48kHz sampled MP3s. travist rules...
