Fantastic module. It's simplified my multilingual menus and saved me a lot of time. Thanks much!

Do you have plans to port to Drupal 7? And/or has anyone already done it and have a patch available?

Yes, there are plans to port this to D7. I wish to release a stable d6 version before, then a straightforward port to D7 will follow. No code available at the moment AFAIK.

People needing to achieve a fully replicated site in D7 might want to try Entity translation.

Trying to stop people from posting "subscribe" comments is noble. Doing it by adding "don't subscribe" comments is only adding extra comments to the queue. Please take a look at my proposal and let me know what you think: #1308176: [meta] Battle plan for stopping spam/"subscribe"/"+1"/"thank you" comments (and cleaning up old ones from the db too).

Thanx in advance.

I am working on a D7 port and have the core functionality working. I haven't done anything with the blocks and context, outside of updating functions that were similar to the other code. I also renamed the module to i18n_menunode to follow the new i18n naming convention.

Actually we might want to call the the D7 version i18n_menu_node, but in both case we'd need to create a new project.

Could either plach or andrewc.swanson open up a sandbox or full project in dev for i18n_menu_node?

At least then we could get #9 into version control.

Here is a sandbox project: http://drupal.org/sandbox/plach/1537886. I granted @andrewc.swanson commit rights. Anyone wishing to work on it just ping me.

Please link the sandbox project in the D7 statement on the module description. I accidentally went here and as Entity translation has lots of issues I'm in hope this module will fit my needs. Maybe others are frustrated too and also want to wait instead of spending time for workarounds. Maybe it could bring more people into the new project.

Thanks @plach. I have updated the module name to i18n_menu_node and committed the files. I will try to keep this updated as we work out the bugs in our development.

please provide a DEV version for us to test

+1, we can help bug fix if you can create a D7 dev branch.

andrewc.swanson’s picture

Since @plach is the owner of the sandbox project I would assume he would have to promote it to a dev branch. Help with the remaining porting and testing would be greatly appreciated.

I have no interest in maintaing the new project, I gave you full powers on it

I have created #1794514: Ownership of the Menu translation - Node project to transfer the ownership of the D7 module to @andrewc.swanson, hope you are ok with it. In any case, please reply there.
