I'll guess it is not happening in 1.x, moving to 2.x

In 2.x the path now is "admin/content/file".
But on this page the "view library"-tab available via "browse"-mediaaasett-widget (see attached file) is not available.

Should be no problem to also have it on the admin-page.

I would also like to see this on the /admin/content/media/list page so that I can try and filer for deletion of older files.. I am using media_gallery and adding two galleries a month with about 60 images in each so this list of media is becoming very long with lots of pages..

Any progress?

Please note this is NOT a complaint. I am very happy to see this progressing. I just wanted to emphasize the need for a filter here by outlining a situation which I don't think is so terribly unusual for those using media...

I've got a site with about 900 sound samples mixed in with about 300 images and the video files are coming soon. It's not a site with lots of users adding their own content, but the client does need to be able to add the right images and a handful of sound samples to any one of about 200 nodes. Even though the media is easily identifiable by name, using the media browser, it can take 20 minutes just to locate a handful of sound files and add them to one of the nodes. And, this has to be done about 200 times. Because it's still so much easier to locate the right media outside of Drupal, the client is re-importing the media every time it's needed creating multiple copies of each piece of media every time someone needs it on a node...

7.x-2 got Views support, even a view added to the browser. I should enable you filter your need media types.

The aim of this issue is to get filters on admin/content/file page,
Did i missed something because i can't find the configuration to get needed filters?

@radoo: As mentioned in #10, 2.x utilizes Views so you can create your own filters tailored exactly to your needs.

Using 2.x, a default view "Media browser" is created,
This view is used by the media browser while selecting a file,
But I can't figure out how to add the filter on admin/content/file page or must I use another view to administrate media files?

You'd create a normal page view for type 'Files' and set the URL of the display to admin/content/file to override that path.

I have created a lengthier version of #17. It also has a follow up question. Namely how to make file in a mediabrowser display selectable.
Please have a look at #1982046: How to re-create the default /admin/content/file pages WITH filters if you need more help or think you might give me a hint.
