Same as the other thread :( Thx for the new version but in my case, its made no difference. I get the same problem as shown in the attached screenshot - instead of phpgedview opening, I get the whole page opening up again inside the frame.... Have followed all the steps in install.txt - havent yet got the themes as outlined in step 4.
will try different Drupal and phpgedview themes tomorrow to see if they make a difference....

karens commentedThis is very odd. No one else has reported this and it doesn't happen to me. I have to mull this over.
Just to help me figure this out, what did you enter for:
- PhpGedView directory (to the external application)
- Internal directory
And is there a link to a live site I can use to see it myself, or is not accessible?
You have a very nice looking site!

dixieau commentedHi Karen & capitaine
Thought I would throw in that I had this problem BIGTIME when I was setting up. it would repeatedly open what appeared to be a 100+ windows in fact in opera it would go on for eternity! but it happened in FF IE and Avant as well
Unfortunately that was three weeks ago and I have tinkered with sooo many things since I can't remember what the problem was :( but I think it had something to do with the theme & urls *sigh* but not 100% sure, sorry, should have followed this thread when it started and it was still fresh.

dixieau commentedlol.. nuts, can you believe I found it purely by accident?! As you know I have two seperate installs one private/one public and I wasn't happy with the fact that you can still view the private file through the direct link www.example.com/phpgedview so I went it to change the setting in Access & Privacy (gedcom config) "Require visitor authentication" from No to YES and THAT is what causes it to constantly load...
Now I haven't updated to the new release yet (not sure how to do it and can't find any info on whether you just replace the files or completely re-install) but I am sure it will be the same setting that is causing the drama for capitaine.

capitaine commentedwell, mine's already set to NO.... and I'm not having a 'repeatedly open' issue, i.e. it doesn't open dozens of instances of the page, it just opens the whole page inside the iframe, and then if you were to click on one of the phpgedview menu options, it opens another one, and so forth.
Karen, am going to try out some more things and then will get back to you with a link

karens commented@capitaine, I've been thinking about this more and I think it almost has to be that the directory was specified incorrectly in your settings, so if you show me what you put for the external and internal directories, that may solve this problem.
@dixieau, you bring up an interesting issue on the authentication setting in PGV. I hadn't thought about that one and need to think more about what if anything I can do in this module to avoid that problem.

capitaine commentedargggh you know what, you're right. I checked, and the base dir was set to /phpgedview/ even though I'd installed the app at domain.com/modules/phpgedview!!! So I chgd the base dir to /modules/phpgedview/ and it works now! So sorry to have wasted so much time!
Now finally I can start working out how to use phpgedview..!

andrewblack commentedHi Karen, i have problem to export drupal user to PGV User. I already have some user in drupal, when i installed PHPGedVIew and follow install.txt and set in admin section to create user, but when i see phpgedview there is not user from drupal. just first account that i map with user/1.
my site is tarombo.net
