This is a practical function.
However, I immediately start wondering if it is meaningful to "enforce" this on anyone, either by role or other. I also wonder if a user would get tired of having to go to his/her profile to enable and disable it if it was possible to set the default per user.
How about making it possible for users / roles to enable a toggle-link per content type that will be displayed on posts, so it can be toggled on session-basis, and restored to user default on next session?

Leeteq commentedhm. would possibly be sufficient just to retain the a site-default per type as it is now, but add a session-based toggle link to those content types.

mfredrickson commentedHonestly, I don't really see the value in this. As it stands right now, the button is always there (provided an admin enabled it for a given content type). The user can choose to click it or not.
Perhaps I am not understanding your request.

deekayen commentedI don't think either of us understand what exactly you're asking for. You want to make the submit again button disappear for specific users (maybe it's confusing them having two options)? You just don't like adding this button to node creation pages without each user opting in?
