I don't remember where I got these changes from, but here they are, re-rolled post The Great Git Migration.

They add default values for module_short_description and module_readable_name in module_builder_generate_info().

Isn't that at the drush command level? I see it in the clone I've just taken.

Though regarding the generate info files --there's a patch changing file generation to OO code here: #1054652: convert generation code to OO.
