1st, brilliant work on Timeline... extremely & happily surprised how clean, easy and powerful it is to use, and thanx espeically for including detailed instructions and get-started timeline_nodes/events views (good authorship).

I checked out the MIT site and noticed they also have a very cool looking tool called "Exhibit" at http://simile.mit.edu/wiki/Exhibit/For_Authors. Haven't had a chance to read through all their docs there, but any chance you might be able to implement Exhibit functionality as a plug-in Drupal module as well?

Thanks again for the good Timeline work,
KV

Meant to add, specifically, the way they have the main page at http://simile.mit.edu/exhibit/examples/presidents/presidents.html w/ right-side navigation might lend itself to well to Drupal, where their right-side might be displayed as Drupal blocks?

Again, only mentioning it here because you already seem familiar with implementing the MIT Timeline work in Drupal and their Exhibit code seems related.

Thanks,
KV

Thanks for the kudos, Kris. I've just looked at Exhibit and it does look very cool and potentially useful.

However, as I don't have a personal need for a tool like that, it's not something I'd tackle right this moment (unless as paid work, perhaps).

I recommend posting this as an idea in the forums - I'm sure it'll generate interest and there may very well be some coders wanting to jump on it. It'd make one helluva cool Drupal module when used in conjunction with CCK and, of course, Timeline.

I implemented a simple flexinode-->exhibit bridge for 4.7 that I'd be happy to share and keep working on; my problem was finding a running site that could benefit from it. We're using it to good effect in our site, but unfortunately that site cannot be public.

As it happens, things aligned in a surprising way and this work has now been started: http://drupal.org/project/exhibit
