There should be configuration to not to display post information (i.e. Username, Date posted, Content type, etc), when it is checked not to be displayed(under themes configuration). Not sure if this is already pointed out.

It's more like a bug, as when user opts not to show submission/user information for particular content type, it is still shown on search result pages. Example can be handbook page results on drupal.org search itself. Might look into if no one is willing :p
