I've also run into this. Usually drupal.org saves my login/pw in the login box but it wasn't there either and had to manually enter it. Logged in and only "Post new topic" showed up when I know I had ongoing threads.
I ran into a localhost version of Drupal 5rc1 giving me trouble last night so I deleted the dir out of htdocs and deleted Xampp from my system so I don't know if that has anything to do with anything, which I doubt, but might've messed with some internal php stuff?
I did a search for my username, nothing showed on the return, clicked user, found my name then clicked track to find all my old posts but yeah... I don't know whats up.

It's because Drupal.org was ported to Drupal 5 just a while ago : http://drupal.org/node/107511#comment-186630
Maybe that's something that needs reporting an issue about ?
