My understanding is that menu block works like a traditional menu, opening deeper levels as you navigate through. The idea of a sitemap is that all levels are open all the time.

The closest thing to this module is footermap... at the time of coding (agggess ago), I didn't really like how they had done it... hence coding this.

"all links are expanded - up to 5 levels deep". Menu Blocks can do exactly this. You can configure at which level to start and how deep you want it to go.

This is from Menu Blocks description - "That block would appear once you were on one of the Main menu’s pages and would show the menu tree "

A sitemap block appears on all pages.

Thanks for answering. Just my point of view: I think Menu Blocks can do all that Sitemap Block can, plus more. It's great that you've taken the effort and time to build this module and that you shared it. However, having a lot of modules that partly do the same is (just my opinion) not a good thing. So please keep contributing, but I'm not sure if this puppet should leave its sandbox state. :D

See the screenshot to see what Menu Blocks is capable of. A lot! ;)
