imagecache not used by gallery assist

It seems that Imagecache is not used by gallery assist. I noted that the imagecache settings are not available in Gallery Assist while all required modules are installed.
- in gallery assist there are no fields for setting a fotocache action setting, only 'sizes' fields are available
- it is possible to set new imagecache actions in imagecache settings, which indicates that Imagecache works well.

So, it seems that gallery assist is operating on its own, without using imagecache and it even looks that gallery assist is unaware of imagecache being present...

Current setup is
Gallery Assist ImageCache 6.x-1.x-dev but the same is seen with 6.x.1.2
Gallery Assist 6.x-1.18
Gallery Assist Lightboxes 6.x-1.4
Gallery Assist User Interface 6.x-1.19-beta5
Gallery Assist Views 6.x-2.0-beta1

Since the initial install with 6.x-1.18 I stepped up to 6.x.-1.19- beta5 and then back to 6.x-1.18 and maybe something went wrong doing this? Maybe I am missing some module or setting somewhere?
