I've got a relatively new site that has been indexed by Google. I'm running 4.7.4 with clean URLs enabled.
Lately I've been seeing crazy "Page Not Found Errors" in my log pages. The whois lookup on all of these track back to Google.
It's looking for pages like potqfeicusewbxi.html and bkabflzdbae.html.
Is this a Drupal related issue? What the heck is going on?
Thanks for any input.

I've had the same issue
I ignored it after I couldn't find out anything - it doesn't happen anymore these days.
I know that Google verifies your site ownership on Google Webmaster Tools (or whatever it's called...) by making you create a .html file with a randomized name (they do make sure that the server doesn't return 200 for all requests though).
But otherwise, I have no idea.
Same here
Hi,
You're not alone. I've had the same on my sites.
I have no ideia what this can be. But I think Google has a purpose to do it. I believe they're not crazy and this is not an issue. They know what they're doing.
Cheers,
Emiliano.
