It would be make the documentation task easier (especially creating new versions of the 4.7.x pages for 5.x, for example) if there was a faster/nicer way to copy and edit the existing pages. Could have installed on drupal.org a module like Clone? I'd even be willing to tweak that module to make a feature that only allows cloning of pages in the book hierarchy, or whatever is appropriate.

See the authoring guidelines on version-specific docs. . .
I almost changed to "by design" but someone with more mojo should do it. . .

Just looked it up on Wikipedia and looks like it mostly means an amulet in the voodoo religions.
