I want the teaser images to click to the NODE. They ) the imageson the teaser ) are displaying a LightBox at the moment.
so what am I doing wrong here?

Hello IrishGringo,

This feature is implemented in the latest versions of GA and is supported from the GA-Lightboxes dev version.
I just made some changes to update the selectors to new L-Boxes versions in the GA-Lightboxes module. You can clone the branch 6.x-1.x at:
git clone --branch 6.x-1.x jcmc@git.drupal.org:project/gallery_assist_lightboxes.git
or you can wait the release of the dev version from today

Try the 19-beta5, go to the GA configuration
Home › Administer › Site configuration › Gallery Assist › "assigned node type"
open the group "Layout" and go to the last, open the subgroup "Extra layout settings". There you can set the linking option according your needs.
