Hi,

Multiple languages don't seem to be working correctly with the legal module. If I try to create a new version of the legal terms but set the language to French rather than English, the result isn't saved correctly (no error is given either). Users who are set in French don't see any legal terms either on login or as part of their profile and aren't required to accept them! At the very least, I would think they should see the default English version...

Need more information, I haven't been able to replicate this problem.

Steps I took:

Create English version (version 1)

Create French version (version 2)
- add in French text
- set Language to French
- set Ask To Re-accept: All users

I also tried creating a French revision by setting Ask To Re-accept: Language specific users

I've managed to reproduce this, it would seem that (and logically so) if you want to create another language version of the T&C text then the text must be different otherwise the module doesn't realise it should be a different revision/version.

Chances are if you've got other languages then your t&c's will be different, but in our case we've got "United Kingdom" and "United States" for other reasons, and the t&c's will be the same.

What could be useful as a feature would be a default or fallback terms and conditions revision for sites with i18n on, along with a setting "use fallback if current language doesn't have any terms and conditions set".

Note, latest Pressflow, legal and checkbox_validate modules are installed.

I have the same / similar problem:

  • had T & C working fine several years with default language set to English
  • changed default language to Finnish
  • tried to add T & C in Finnish
  • nothing actually happens (only the original English T & C seems to stay there, but nothing will actually show up with the new default language, nor in the registration form)
