I was wondering if anybody knows of a source which correctly specifies the currently-accepted settings for exporting a mysql database - for the purpose of going from wamp to a real server.

I've had a look around, and there seem to be details which differ...a definitive page would be great. Perhaps Drupal has one and I've missed it.

I'd check out the Backup and Migrate module. It has the default settings for exporting the db. I believe only the cache tables are omitted: http://drupal.org/project/backup_migrate
