Hi first of all a very big thanks for building such a nice module. We are a group of radiation oncologists who were basically looking for a way to draw on CT images a process we call contouring. We were relying on 3rd party drawing board solutions till date which frankly are a bit on the slower side. Your module works as advertised however with all the power of drupal behind it.
Your module allows us to draw directly on the image which is a great thing. I know its probably something that cant be done but it would be really nice if we could draw on the image while it was being displayed on page without needing to click the edit button. Is such a functionality possible.
Regards
& thanks once again.

rbayliss commentedGreat to hear that this module has been useful for you, and that sounds like a fantastic use for it. If you check the latest development version, I've added a setting for how the field behaves with and without an image in it. That should fix this issue.

rbayliss commentedOh, sorry, I may have misunderstood this feature request. You're asking about being able to draw on the node view page, not the edit page?

santam commentedYes I mean drawing on the node view page. More I delve into drupal more I realise that in order to do so the image must be displayed in a sort of way where annotation ability is present. I guess this would be out of the scope of the present module.

rbayliss commentedWhat you are suggesting is theoretically possible, but really goes against the typical Drupal workflow. It would be cool to see a companion module that allows you to edit any image on the site (including background images) in place, but it's definitely outside of the scope of this module. It doesn't look like there's a Drupal 7 port yet, but you may want to keep an eye on editable fields
