I love this module and it works great for me. I think it would be great if you could choose another CCK field, or potentially even use a view to render each node. That way for a family tree, you could include an image thumbnail for each person in the family.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I have not had any luck.

The graphs are rendered with graphviz, so I don't think there's going to be any way to render nodes as a view.

At the moment this module is not under active development (see the module front page, I just updated it). Sorry about that.
