After enabling Permissions Plus I go to permissions and receive fatal error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7322642 bytes) in /Users/Me/Sites/acquia-drupal/sites/all/modules/permission_select/permission_select.module on line 84

Prior to this error I had enabled the dev version and couldn't find any edit own categories in permissions. It simply looked like content permissions module.

I came here because the Permissions Field module is SO darn confusing. I hope you two can come together to make this a solid feature :)

I resolved my problem with Field Permissions module here. This is the only feature I need at the moment so this resolves my issue:
