I'm also keen to use this module for D7; we used it on our D6 site and now need to role out the D7 upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas for some kind of rules-based stop-gap? I've tried various approaches with rules but so far nothing quite works. The uif plus module seems to do what's needed in terms of importing users together with groups, but that module is lacking some important features available to user-import. Any thoughts?

i'm glad the uif uif_plus seems to work, but I'm having trouble with those - specifically they seem to crash on large numbers of groups - is there anything else working that might handle this?
