Show discounted Price on Search Page

I am needing to show the discounted price on a search page. I have a custom module that searches the database and returns products and prices. It shows the original price and I am needing it to show the discounted price.
I am unsure on what the code is I need to show the discounted price.
Can anyone give me a hand on this?
