Sounds like your objectives can quite similiar to what the Migrate module provides.
Could you explain how it differs, and what could be the differences between this module and the Migrate module ?

for Migrate : I don't know : backup and restore ... ?
for Feeds : yes goals are similar... But I ve another project that rely on Entity API and I need an Import module that uses Entity API too...
