Been hunting high and low for a solution to this. After upgrading to D-20, the GMap Location Block which was fine, now works sporadically. The Location Block is fine when user 1 is logged in and also when editing the map. Gmap Views are working great as well.
It's just the location block which is on the blink. Works once then shows error message in IE, Mozilla, or not showing at all in Chrome.
Have tried unsetting "optimize javascript files", disabled & cleared cache. Installed latest devs of 6 for Gmap and Location. That caused the markers to disappear, so reinstalled 6.x-1.1 (which had patched . Still getting "javascript is required..."
Anyone else experienced and/or posted re. this prob?

pmathur01 commentedHi,
I had a similar problem before. The issue is resolved now. In my case Drag and Drop Images was conflicting with this. As soon as I disabled it this worked. Hope it helps.

edg commentedThanks for posting - it probably is a conflict with another module, although I havent changed added new modules since upgrading to Drupal 20 when I became aware of the problem. I might not have immediately noticed it because the map works when I'm logged in. Still scratching my head...

ilnulla commentedHi,
I had the same problem with view galleriffic module. I have a galleriffic view attached into node and a location block. The error shows only if node contains and shows galleriffic. The error disappears if node not contain galleriffic or when galleriffic and map are attached into node, renouncing to have location block.
Thanks for help

edg commentedIn the end i turned off the location block and used custom views blocks which worked fine, although the javascript message occasionally flashes very briefly and then disappears.

selinav commentedSame problem works for user 1 but not for anonymous.
Have you got a solution?

johan2 commentedHi,
Just to confirm, for User1 everything works fine, but not for anonymous or authenticated users.
D6.22 + Gmap 1.1 , made a View: proximity/distance with an input-map...
When using User1 the maps show up just fine and they refresh when I execute a new search in the View.
But when I try the same as an anonymous user the map only shows up once. Everytime the message "javascript is required to view this map" comes up. When I clear the cache as User1 the map will show again...
First I tried all the permissions but this seems not to help.
What can be the difference between the cache or js when being loged in or not when all permissions are the same?
I have no idea what goes wrong here?
Regards,
Johan

johan2 commentedHi,
I have found the evil. The 'block cache' on the performance page is causing problems. This should absolutely be turned off !! When this cache is enabled it will prevent the search and reload of a map.
I hope my search helps for others.
Regards, Johan

raulmuroc commentedDefinetely the problem is Views Galleriffic + Gmap.
When I deactivate View Galleriffic then Gmap turns up showing the location map. When I activa Views Galleriffic it appears again "Javascript is required to view this map".
Searching for solution. If somebody catch it please just say :D
thx.
