I'm on shared hosting, and my web host is dragging it's feet upgrading to PHP 5.3. Is there a chance that Notifications could be made compatible with 5.2 as well? It would make my life easier!

I think this is also useful for those of us that use Drupal 6.x on the same server.
There is a function patch here http://drupal.org/node/936660 that apparently makes this module fine with 5.2 - perhaps put that in the release module?
