The patch is working great. I'll work this into a new DEV release soon, unless I hear any objections from others about creating a module dependency.

The Mail System module is now included in the official Drupal 7 release of the Postmark module.

The Mail System module now provides a 6.x backport of the Drupal 7 mail system, which makes maintaing both 6.x and 7.x versions of a mail-sending system a lot easier.
