I installed the Imagecache and Imagefield module on my windows,apache server, and my site by default is set to the Private download method, but I could not get it to work, the file paths to the imagecache area are incorrectly formed.

I switched the download method to Public, and all started working.
The file paths were all correct, and working beautifully, but I need to switch to the Private mode.

I am investigating why, because I really want to have the download method to Private.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.

File bugs seperately for seperate modules please. Neither module advertises private file support. Switching to a feature request.

No problem, I will do, but does it state that it will only work on public mode only.
