Since the author's affiliation can change over time, it would be nice to have the affiliation field available for every publication.

Please add the affiliation field to the database table biblio_contributor and maybe add the field to the Author section in the Edit form of biblio. The default value could be the affiliation field from the author database and then you can change the field in the current publication if necessary.

Anything new on this thread ? This would be a really good thing to have possibility to choose author affiliation(s) in the document record, maybe based on a taxonomy ?

Hi,
We are working on a module adding affiliations management to biblio module. The idea is to have a new table with node id, author id and affiliation term id, while the affiliations are stocked in a taxonomy. You can add several affiliations for one author.
There will be something in line very soon, on GitHub or maybe a sandbox. We will let you know, and hope that there will be some people to have a look and comment.
