We've been working with a local Community College who decided they wanted to use drupal, and have managed to convert their basic information site. We are however having issues determining how best to implement the sale of course seats. We have installed and tried to get ubercart to function in a useful way with extremely limited success. Please note, we are trying to write as little code as possible for this site, so we are looking for something out of the box which will has flexible enough configuration to meet as many of our needs as possible. Some of the things we need to be able to do which ubercart does not appear to support are
1. Active/Inactive flag for listing a course (product)
2. Make the item unpurchasable if inventory (seats) goes to 0
3. I may be missing something here, but the ability to display the course (product) Name field on the product page
Are there any reasonably flexible solutions available?

since the college is beginning to work with drupal, would drupal 7 be a possibility? ubercart was greatly revamped and released as the ecommerce module. there were countless applauds to the ecommerce module presentation last week on drupalcon!
the comparison i saw was that ubercart is (was?) a flimsy skate-board that took you there and ecommerce is a top-notch race-car.
