field-label class css changes

Theme developer adds css which modifies the class field-label. The tells it to have black background and white text. What exactly is the purpose of this?

It doesn't seem like something that's especially helpful. I suggest that it be removed. At the very least, there should be a checkbox in the settings page to choose if the field labels should be highlighted or not.
